Free GPR data
To learn how to read a radargram, test a processing step or compare antennas, nothing beats real measurements. GPRbase, the open database by MDS, publishes real, documented and free ground penetrating radar surveys that open directly in GPRviewer.
Open GPRviewer for freeFree account, nothing to install, runs in your browser.
Each dataset is described on GPRbase (context, equipment, targets, ground truth when available) and can be downloaded for free. In GPRviewer, the “Samples on GPRbase.com” button on the start screen opens the same catalogue.
How to use them
- Pick a dataset below and download it from GPRbase (ZIP archive).
- Open GPRviewer and drop the .DZT files onto the window.
- Compare with the dataset description: rebars, utilities, voids or interfaces are identified there.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find free GPR data?
On GPRbase.com, which publishes real GSSI surveys with their context. They open for free in GPRviewer.
Can I use them for training or a publication?
Yes, under the licence stated on each dataset page.
Which formats?
Mostly GSSI .DZT files, sometimes with .DZX files, GPS tracks or Compass files (.nx).
